Greetings from Rattle Bones, Pittsburgh’s newest hitmakers!
Rattle Bones formed in Pittsburgh USA in January of 2024.
Lead vocal & guitar duties are handled by Gary Martin (from L.A. rockers The Claws)
Bass & backup vocals duties go to Eric Rodger (Pittsburgh’s Royal Honey band)
Drums & backup vocals belong to Tom Hohn (ex-The Cynics, Pittsburgh garage rock legends)
The band draws from a myriad of influences throughout rock, pop, country, punk, metal, funk, film, literature, etc to create a familiar but unique sound. You can definitely hear the Stones & Tom Petty, but also the influence of underground darlings from days gone by of the Replacements & the Gun Club. Plus a little AC/DC…
Rattle Bones utilizes big riffs & sweet harmonies in the music. The band has released a 10-song CD for purchase at all shows. Vinyl coming later in 2025?…STAY TUNED!!

Pittsburgh band Rattle Bones rocks like 1975 on debut album
“No two people are going to hear the same thing in the sound of Rattle Bones. You might hear The Faces, you might hear Humble Pie, or T-Rex, or The Sweet, maybe even Kiss or Foghat. Maybe just The Stones or Tom Petty.
The general idea, is that it rocks like 1975.
‘Silver Bullets’ is packed with songs — like ‘Terminal Romance,’ ‘Night Music’ and the title track — that would have sounded great on WDVE [Pittsburgh-based major AOR FM Radio] in the ’70s, and still will in 2025.”

Rattle Bones “Silver Bullets”
RATTLE BONES from Pittsburgh, PA is fronted by Gary Martin (The CLAWS) and delivers a cool mix of 70s bluesy hard rock and 80s heavy rock. Hard rockin’ guitar riffs and sweet vocal harmonies flirt together in “Terminal Romance” while the shadow of The ROLLING STONES wanders around “Night Music” and “One Moment”. “Desert Heart” has a cool HANOÏ ROCKS meets DOGS D’AMOUR vibe and “Driving All Night” is a soulful rock ballad. The band really knows how to write catchy hard rock songs, just listen to “Silver Bullets”, “Halcyon Times” or “Forevermore” and gets close to the QUIREBOYS with “Dark Skies”. The band’s description “Saturday night excess meets Sunday morning regret” sounds quite right when listening to this 10 song album. Check it out!

Pittsburgh local band spotlight: Rattle Bones
“Silver Bullets,” the debut album from Rattle Bones, is “chock full of isolation blues, riff-happy rave-ups, guitar noir, three-part harmonies, bittersweet melodies, and a bitchin’ backbeat,” according to singer/guitarist Gary Martin.
Or, in other words: “This record could be the soundtrack to your Saturday night excess or to
your Sunday morning regret,” he added.
